~ President Richmond during his State of the Union address

Robert Richmond was the President of the United States before he was killed in the Capitol Bombing when delivering the State of the Union address. He was the father of Tyler Richmond.

Robert Richmond was born in Louisiana. In Pilot, it was said he was re-elected to a second term as President of the United States. Robert and his son Tyler had a falling out and hadn't talked to each other since. Unbeknownst to Tyler, however, Robert secretly attended his spring recital in the back of the room.

Tom Kirkman suggested topics for Richmond's State of the Union speech, but the latter scrapped them all.

Not long before the bombing, Richmond ordered his chief of staff Charles Langdon to remove Tom Kirkman from his administration at the beginning of his second term. He was killed instantly when the Capitol exploded, which made Tom Kirkman his successor for president.

He had his funeral and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
