Senator Elizabeth Vanderberg is a Republican Senator from the state of Tennessee.

Biography[]

She was appointed by Governor of Tennessee to fill the Senate seat vacated by her husband's death after the Capitol Bombing.

Her husband and her shared similar views on many issues, except gun control. The latter was not known to the public, and so her name wasn't included for a possible list of "aye" voters on bill SB 8180 (a bill that strengthened federal background checks).

To everyone's surprise, she voted "aye". She explained that although she and her husband held the same view on many issues, one thing she couldn't agree on with him was gun control.

She acknowledged that she would be criticized by her Republican colleagues and her state constituents, but said she remembered President Kirkman's speech about choosing country over party and thought it was the right decision to make.
